Not sure what the problem is - HP Tuners Bulletin Board
Not sure how though. This has happened 4 times now, the last three were "fixed" by turning the key to start and holding. If you do it three times and it doesn't start, it's not going to start so go back inside and watch TV. This paticular try that worked, I turned the key to start and held it. On the third consecutive try, about 5 seconds after the key was turned, the starter engaged and the engine started. The truck runs and drives like normal. When I put my supercharger on last year, the truck ran like a scalded bandit after my tune. But as time went by, I noticed the truck starter lurching when I would stop at a light. It got so bad that the brakes wouldn't hold it unless I had the brake pedal down as hard as I could. I found that unplugging the MAF mostly solved the problem. It still periodically sputtered at the stoplight, but the lurching went away. It was winter time by now, and I was very busy with work, so I didn't get a chance to mess with the tuning. One day when I was going home, a friend was driving his car behind me when I went to pass someone. I gave it about 75% throttle and it took off pretty good. My friend later told me I produced a black cloud worse than a diesel engine. I've noticed that gradually over the next months, my performance has gone down, and it is running rich. Today I had the MAF sensor plugged back in, and there was no lurching or hesitation at all... After I got the truck started today, I went out and "ran around the block", a 4 mile treck on country roads that surround our housing development. I did two WOT blasts, but they were "gradual" ramps to WOT. I noticed that when I let off the gas, I got some back firing. The tune has not changed at all since the truck would peal your face off, but I've lost a considerable amount of power. I'm only getting about 4 pounds of boost now vs 5-6 that I was seeing before. It's a magnacharger type supercharger, so I'm a bit perplexed about it.
