Louisiana Statewide Races Prelude To Next Governor Post Jindal
As qualification for state office begins, and since no major Democrats seem to be willing to run for one of the types across the state, given the kind of results that can come from competition for office juniors, we can see the maneuvers begin with the Republicans appeal to the Conservative base to become his successor to Governor Bobby Jindal in four years. While only Tucker is coming directly from the Legislature, Dardenne , Schedler , Tucker , and Donelon served at least three terms in their legislative spots, and Strain served two terms and would have faced term limits had he run and won that House seat again instead of winning his current job in 2007. Thus, despite the poor record these offices have in immediately getting somebody into the Governor’s Mansion, more than ever they are filled with politicians particularly keen on advancement, a necessary prerequisite for getting into the top job. Three of them seem unlikely candidates to replace Jindal . Other than attorney general positions in judicial districts and for the state, Caldwell has shown no other political ambitions, and, while he did make a run for U.S. Senate in 1998, Donelon seems to have settled in at the Department of Insurance. If Schedler wins reelection, neither does he seem that driven to get to the top spot, probably acting more in a supporting role to the guy who gave him a job after he faced term limitation that allowed him to ascend to his current position, Dardenne before he successfully captured the lieutenant governorship in a special election last year. By contrast, ambition burns so brightly in two others it blinds. Dardenne clearly has been positioning himself for bigger things than the two offices in state government that have the least policy-making potential; it might be the U.S. Senate in 2014, but, if not that, then likely the office on the fourth floor of the Capitol in 2015.Super Bowl Comm - News

2010 Superbowl Commercial Lineup - Watch Superbowl ...
Dr. Pepper Snapple Group has purshed a 30-second spot to run during the second quarter — Dr. Pepper’s first appearance at the Super Bowl. The ad will promote the Dr. Pepper Cherry line and will be advertised, no joke, by Gene Simmons as Dr. Love and the rest of Kiss. Because nothing makes us want to drink Dr. Pepper like a middle-aged man in gothy mime make up. HomeAway is an online vacation-rentals listing services that apparently does well enough to not only buy one 30-second ad but also to have Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo reprise their roles as Mr. and Mrs. Clark Griswold in the National Lampoon’s Vacation movies. Not that Chevy costs any money anymore but, still, bravo HomeAway!
Your lack of listing of the Focus on the Family as an advertiser is shameful. It shows a lack of courage and a blatent bias against wholesomeness.
Commercials showing a child hitting an elderly man in the crotch gets listing and shown on the web while this ad is overlooked and not shown. Many of the super bowl ads have sunk to the lowest common denominator and have become unwatchable.
Why of all the ads listed was the one from Focus on the Family ignored, especially when it was so innocuous? All the pro-abort folks who were so up in arms should issue a public apology for acting like childish horses-asses. That commercial was winsome and positive. Anyone who would be offended by it, was already prejudiced against it beforehand. That kind of bigotry doesn’t belong in this country, and neither does the cowardice of the people who won’t stand up to these bigots.
I’ve seen funnier commerical’s on Saturday Night live – and I think Saturday Night Live sucks (so not funny like back in the 70′s). Anyway i watched the whole game and all the commericials and most (a large amount) of what I saw was CBS doing their self TV promos; okay, okay the 1st Dorito commerical cracked me up and the Bettye White one was funny. The rest were BEYOND stupid. I mean, showing men in their underware – and women, too. All of whom should NOT HAVE BEEN in a commerical showing their undies. OMG – how degrading. I hope they all got paid A LOT OF MONEY for those ads. Seriously, what happened to the really clever, funny (I mean crack up funny) and innovative commericals we have come to love. Very disappointed this year.
