Essential work functions / major responsibilities of the position: 1. Provide a basic service for clients of the immigration program, including the reception, making appointments telephone, and admissions. 2. Maintain customer database and file systems. 3. Translate documents as needed. 4. Help immigration consultant working with cases with Asian client communications. 5. Participate in workshops or training required. 6.Use all appropriate office equipment necessary to support the efficient movement of documents by the customer. 7. Model and encourage direct communication between professional staff and facilitate the development of a positive personal support network. 8. Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity in providing services to clients in regard to cultural and socio-economic population it serves. SECONDARY DUTIES: Attend all staff meetings and other MCS-meetings requested by the immigration consultant working with the workload or manager of Asian immigration program. JOB COMPLEXITY: The Immigration Assistant must be able to communicate effectively with clients who speak Vietnamese, as well as with other staff members. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: No responsibility for supervision of employees. INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS: Must have good communication skills and ability to articulate basic accounting policies to area program staff and other colleagues of MCS. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Speak, read and write fluently in Vietnamese. 2. Previous experience with data entry. 3. Have the ability to function well in a multicultural environment. 4. Possess good oral and written communications skills. 5. Have excellent time-management skills. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Have work experience in data entry and have the ability to work with confidential client materials. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: No unusual physical demands.
