SBA has seminar for businesswomen
The U.S. Small Business Administration will conduct a free seminar for women to educate, inform and support women in small business. This seminar will explain the new Woman Owned Small Business Contracting Program to help women compete in government contracting and also explain the SBA loan programs and services to help start, grow, and succeed in small business.
The free seminar is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the agency office, 3649 Leopard St., Suite 411. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. Seating is limited and seminar is subject to change.

Legislative changes topic of luncheon
The impacts of the 82nd Legislature’s decisions on schools, the workforce and the community will be the topic of a luncheon scheduled for Wednesday.
The Coastal Bend Partners for College and Career Readiness is sponsoring the gathering, which features a panel discussion.
Panelists are state Rep. Todd Hunter, Texas AM University President Flavius Killebrew, Del Mar College President Mark Escamilla, interim Corpus Christi Assistant City Manager Rudy Garza, Corpus Christi Independent School District Superintendent Scott Elliff and Gregory-Portland ISD Superintendent Paul Clore.
Tables are $300 and individual tickets are $50.
