5 George Soros Stock Picks
Guru investor George Soros of the Quantum Fund has just come out with new buy ideas for his portfolio. This group includes a wide variety of companies, ranging from small to large cap, that Soros believes are poised for high returns. Let’s take a closer look at five of these tickers.
ClickSoftware Technologies Ltd. ( CKSW ) is in the Internet Software & Services industry and is trading at $7.95 with a market capitalization of $243.5 million. The stock is yielding $0.32, giving it a dividend of 3.64% of its stock price. The price-to-earnings ratio is 29.37, which actually falls below its industry average. Both the operating and net profit margins are above standard compared to its competitors at 13.74 and 11.55 percent, respectively. The revenue growth of the last year, however, is below industry median at 17.50%. The company has its short-term liquidity needs covered with a quick ratio of 2.53. Additionally, the company has zero debt, making this stock very attractive to fundamental analysts.
ClickSoftware has been hard at work to improve its product, promoting enhanced workforce agility and control in its Workforce Management Platform. Though CEO Ben Bassat Moshe recently sold a stake of his shares, the chart continually shows strong trends, with the stock price growing 47.68% in the last 52 weeks. After retracing past the Fibonacci 61.8% mark, the chart has rallied back up to the 38.2% mark, illustrating that there is significant price strength. ClickSoftware has solid fundamentals with strong liquidity, no debt, and good cash flow. I project this stock to break through its May high in the first quarter of 2012. I have CKSW as a buy.
Ralph Lauren Corp. ( RL ) – This clothing giant is trading at $129.70 with a market capitalization of $11.89 billion at the time of writing. Ralph Lauren appears a bit overpriced, with its price-to-earnings ratio at 21.29, among the highest in the Apparel & Accessories industry. The company has low debt levels with a debt-to-equity ratio of 0.10. RL reported strong earnings per share improvement in the most recent quarter compared to a year prior. Of the few in its industry that do pay a dividend, Ralph Lauren is one of the lower-yielders. However, the return on equity, not its dividend, is what’s pulling investors in.

Are You the Designated Family Computer Guru? ~ LockerGnome ...
For about 15 years or more, I owned and operated my own successful business computer repair. In addition to setting personal computers, I also taught computer science at our local junior college for six years. I enjoyed my status as a computer guru in our city and I prides itself on providing honest, reliable support for home users and business customers. In addition to paying clients, I also provided advice free computer for the family, friends and neighbors around the United States. Even when customers moved to other states, they continued to ask for advice or support from me, which was itself a huge compliment.
Over the years I have learned some valuable information on how to provide support off-site as well as learning when to say no. There will be situations that may involve either hardware or software with which you may be unfamiliar or which require expert support. You can save yourself a lot of grief, recognizing your limitations and off-site to advise the person to seek professional help for their problem. Doing this can disrupt the person asking for your help, but to be honest is better than doing more damage to an already troubled computer system.
If possible, try to take remote control of the computer that is having the problem. It is much easier to see for yourself what is going on than to listen to an explanation from someone who may not be explaining the problem correctly. Being able to remotely troubleshoot a system is especially useful when you’re across the country. Though most problems these days involve either a virus or malware issue, seeing the problem for yourself can help in determining the proper software to use in order to cure the computer illness.
You need to have patience when dealing with a computer problem, especially when trying to troubleshoot a problem over the phone. We need to remember that the person on the other end of the phone does not have the computer knowledge we have and may need some hand holding in order to complete certain tasks that you request from them. We all have family, friends, or neighbors who only know how to surf the Internet or check email. When they are asked to do something as simple as going into Control Panel, they may start asking questions as to what they are doing or make statements that they have never seen this before. Remain calm and try not to be critical of their lack of expertise.
